How to install wallpaper on your Windows desktop

1. Choose the image size you want to install according to your screen resolution. You can check your resolution by right-clicking your mouse on a blank part of the desktop and selecting the Properties menu; a Display Properties dialog box will appear. Next, select the Settings tab and check the resolution in your Desktop Area.

2. Click on the link to the image of the correct resolution; the image will automatically appear in a new window of your browser. There are now two methods you can use to set the image as your wallpaper:

a) Just right-click on the image and choose Set as Wallpaper
OR  
b) Right-click on the image and select Save Image as to download it to your hard drive; such images are usually saved in the folder C:\WINDOWS. Next , right-click on a blank part of your desktop, select Properties, and choose the Background tab to locate and set your image.

How to install wallpaper on your Mac desktop

1. Choose the image size you want to install according to your screen resolution. You can check your screen resolution by clicking on : Apple Menu \ Control Panel \ Monitors in the Resolution box.

2. After clicking on the link of the right resolution, the image will automatically appear in a new window of your browser. Place the mouse cursor on the image and press the mouse button for a few seconds. Then, choose Download Image to Disk and save the image in the following path: MacintoshHD (your hard disk) \ System Folder \ Appearance \ Desktop Pictures \ Photos. Click on Save.

3. To select a screen background image, follow this path : Apple Menu \ Control Panels \ Appearance. Select the Desktop tab. Click on Remove Picture (will remove current wallpaper) then, click on the same button now called Place Picture. Normally, the computer will open the right folder, if not, follow the same path as for saving : MacintoshHD (your hard disk) \ System Folder \ Appearance \ Desktop Pictures \ Photos. Select the photo that you want for your screen background and click on Set Desktop.
